Aquiva has over the years installed base stations and metro fibre and offering services in Harare and Bulawayo. The company has ~200km of installed metro fibre and installed WiMax (Currently upgrading to LTE) base stations as well as various KA and KU Band installations nationwide. 

The company remains one of the few players that have been able to withstand the economic challenges though it is stressed due to lack of capital injection, regulatory fees burden and lack of liquidity which has retarded its growth and adversely affected its cash flows and operations.

 

Interconnections with local operators

The company has interconnections with most of the local operators including but not limited to Econet Zimbabwe, Telecel Zimbabwe, Liquid Telecoms, Dandemutande and hold an international gateway for fibre through Beitbridge as well as a VoIP International gateway. Strategic partnerships have been established with (among other key partners) BridgeVoice Inc (USA), Bentley Walker (UK), Iway Africa (Kenya), Dandemutande Investments (Zim).

Aquiva Telecommunications (Pvt) Ltd

Harare, Zimbabwe – October 2016 , Aquiva Wireless initiated an operations restructuring exercise establishing an operational unit branded Aquiva Telecommunications (Pvt) Ltd in pursuit of operational excellence. Company approved a Foreign Direct Investment structure through one of its regional shareholders, Algo Communications (Pty) Ltd, which structure facilitates leveraging of foreign investments from regional and international investment instruments as well as spreading investment risk.

Harare, Zimbabwe – August 2018, Aquiva Telecommunications was re-branded to ATTelecoms (Pvt) Ltd two months ahead of targeted scheduled completion of the restructuring exercise initially set for October 2018. ATTelecoms (Pvt) Ltd is now a stand alone entity pursuing enhanced operational excellence and management of last mile licensed customers for Aquiva Wireless including provision of ICT Hardware and Consultancy services. The decision to spin off the non-core licensed ATTelecoms business allows for focus on the licensed core business matters on the part of Aquiva Wireless.
