Good Hope Foundation Zimbabwe is a small, Non Profit Making Based Organization (NPMBO) located in the rural district of Sanyati, Zimbabwe. The heart of this organization is to provide a platform for the inspiration and empowerment of the underprivileged children in schools and beyond through promoting opportunities to support and connect through lobbying, mentoring , networking and developing as well as recognising excellence in disadvanmtaged pupils in a way that is sustainable and empowering.

Started in 2016 by Tatenda Mafirakureva, Good Hope Foundation was born from his passion of helping the people who are in needy because he grew up in a family like that with his parents alive but he was facing many challenges. This made him to come up with Good Hope Foundation because he feel for the children withouth their parents.

While still an infant organization, Good Hope Foundation has big dreams. The long-term goal is to build a community center in Zimbabwe, which will operate as a hub for meeting various needs, such as teaching and empowering, holiday camps for children, and much more.

School Support: the Foundation has identified some local primary schools to assist with remedial reading classes, sponsor underprivileged students, and develop school links with primary schools in Africa.

Sports Outreach: The Foundation needs to sponsor Football and Netball league in different primary schools as well as building relationships with the teams through evangelism.

Project Support: The Foundation organizes and assists with community projects, such as keeping broilers.

The heart of Good Hope Foundation is to holistically serve and empower the underprivileged, addressing both physical and spiritual needs. Please pray for us, as we share the truth of Christ and serve our community, and consider supporting us financially.

1) Prayer

Please, please, please take time to pray for Good Hope Foundation Zimbabwe and the underprivileged pupils in our country.

2) Encouragement

Take a moment to encourage our staff. Pleasse send an email, or a text to share a word of support.

3) Resource Provision/Regular Contribution

Take a look at our list of needs, and see if you or your church has any items that can be donated, or funds to purchase it in-country. We are always looking for resources for our schools, football/netball teams, projects, and office. We are also looking to consistent donations, so that we can plan our budget.

Immediate Office Needs:

Printer/Copier/Scanner

Accounting Software

Desktop or laptop

4) Student Sponsorship

Sponsoring a primary student costs at least $60 per school year and lasts for the duration of the student’s primary education—up to 7 years, depending on their age. Our dream is that these students can establish real relationships with their sponsors and be freed from the worry of school fees.

Good Hope Foundation Zimbabwe needs YOU!

There are a number of ongoing projects that the foundation is involved with. Current projects include:

The Foundation is involving in poultry industry and currently there are 100 broilers. Good Hope Foundation strives to be as self-sustaining as possible. Poultry industry can help the Foundation to achieve its aims and objectives. The Foundation is investing in bulding a large room that can accomodate at least 500 birds by 2017.

Orphan School Fees Campaign. Education in Zimbabwe is not free. Out of 1,500 children at a local primary school there are over 300 pupils who are underpriviledged and unable to pay their school fees. Paying at least $20 per term a disadvantaged student otherwise unable to attend school can get an education for at least $60 per year. Good Hope Foundation is launching a campaign to raise money to pay orphan school fees for the 2017 school year.

Founding a local Christian soccer league. The Foundation aims to establish a soccer league in schools where the Gospel is shared at every game.

In its first year of existence Good Hope Foundation managed to partner with Catholic Commission For justice and Peace in donating stationery and other needs to Chikurubhi Maximum Prisoners thanks to friends of the Foundation for donating small-scale funds. The Lord has been faithful to provide for the Foundation’s needs every step of the way. If you’ve contributed to the Organisation, THANK YOU! But please do not stop giving. The work is ongoing–in fact, there is more to do every day. And if you haven’t contributed, please pray about doing so. Anything helps. In fact, $20 could fund a child’s school fees for an entire term!

Also consider getting your church, school, friends, family, or place of employment involved. Be creative! Working together with others puts the FUN in FUNdraising.

If you’d like to donate or get involved with a project, please contact Good Hope Foundation at goodhopefoundzim@gmail.com.

And the most important thing you can do: PRAY. Ephisians 6;18 says “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord s people.” Pray for wisdom for Tatenda Mafira and Sheanesu, to open doors, and for people to hear and respond to the Gospel.
